Food Vendor Requirements

To ensure the safety of our community and compliance with local health regulations, all food vendors at the Madison Market must adhere to the following guidelines set by the St. Francois County Health Center.

Permitted Food Items

• Only specific food items are allowed for sale at the farmers market:
• Fresh Produce: All types of fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Missouri Cottage Food Law Items: Certain home-prepared, non-potentially hazardous foods (like specific baked goods) that fall under this law.
• Eggs: Vendors selling eggs must possess a valid egg license from the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Apply here.

Restrictions

• If a food item is not covered by the Missouri Cottage Food Law or is not fresh produce, it cannot be sold at the market.
